Developer Training

I need to obtain developer training in NAV2017. Online I was able to locate a NetComLearning course for NAV2013 Developer C/Side Introduction. Are there any training resources available for NAV2017  Development? Would taking a developers course in NAV2013 help in NAV2017 Development? Is NetComLearning a trusted resource?

Thanks

Steve

If you work for a Microsoft partner, or a NAV end-customer who is current on enhancement, you can access the NAV Development e-Learning videos through Microsoft's PartnerSource and CustomerSource portals.

Also, there are books on NAV development that you can purchase from Packt Publishing (http://www.packtpub.com) and Amazon.

Finally, there are some bootcamps on NAV development hosted by MVPs. There is a cost to these training sessions, but you may be able to offset the costs if multiple people are being trained. Mark Brummel, an MVP does these sessions in Europe and North America (markbrummel.blog/masterclasses).

I hope this helps. If my response has answered your question, please take a moment to verify by clicking Yes next to "Did this answer your question?"

    Stephen,

I cannot validate the NetComLearning but regarding training there are few differences between NAV 2017 and NAV 2013, ex: Events, and extensions are introduced in NAV 2017. So if you take training in NAV 2013 you will cover most of it except few which you need to refer later.

There are several free training videos on you tube, help on MSDN and books on Amazon to get you started and also if you have partner source access there are training materials which are very good.

    Check this topics:

    dynamicsuser.net/.../how-to-become-a-great-microsoft-dynamics-nav-developer-getting-started

Most things you would learn for 2013 version would be used in 2017 as well, so it can be a good start anyway. However as Suresh mentioned 2017 version has more new features and also development logic, e.g. Extensions - you would better stick to that style as it would be developing and progressing.
