Regarding legal tax document from POS. Receipts, Sales Order Receipts and pick up receipts on POS.

I am working on a scenario, where customers buy Carry Out products and SO products for pick up or shipment in the same POS transaction. The Receipt is the legal tax document, but when I combine delivery modes “carry out” with a “pickup or a shipment delivery mode”, the transaction becomes a Sales Order Receipts.

I guess when we must follow the law in many countries, I believe I must create a legal tax receipt for the customer on carry out products, but I am not allowed to create a legal tax document for the products set to later pickup or shipment. What am I missing?

The workaround would of course be to split up the transaction in carry out products in one transaction and SO products in another and collect payment from the customer twice. Then I would create the pickup receipt as a legal tax document as well when the customer pickup their products later. Since we have nice functionality two combine delivery modes, it does not seem to be the optimal message to our customer.

The best solution in my perspective would be that Pos could create a legal tax document “receipt” on carry out products, and a Sales Order receipt on pick up or shipment products. Two documents from one transaction with one payment. But this is not possible in the solution.

I did post this on yammer just before close down, but I try in this new community again. This must be a common issue or I am missing something.

We got several Agro Companies and Furniture Companies, in both Denmark and Norway. And this must in my perspective be an issue or at least a discussion in any Retail Store using both carry out and sales Orders (Pickup or Shipment)

Best Regards

/Flemming

I have discovered the same issue and hope for a solution to avoid the workaround with splitting up the transacations

    Hi Flemming,

    Thank you for your feedback.

You can create a support request so we can further investigate this issue.

    Hello Ana

Thanks for trying, but when it comes to it, I do not think there is any difference in the law between countries on this matter. An invoice or receipt and a Sales Order confirmation do not represent the same thing. So, your answer kind of take focus from the answer I was looking for.

What does other customers do (or have done)?

Customers who combine carry out sale with pickup or shipment sale in the same transaction, receipt, and payment.

    Is the answer that:

They simply do not combine them, even though the functionality is there in the D365 POS, and Microsoft have put a lot of effort in this?

Maybe they just look the other way?

Did you develop or extent a solution?

Or maybe I am missing something as I wrote?

And maybe … just maybe, somebody would agree that this an issue that Microsoft should take a closer look at?

    Best Regards

    Flemming
