GL entries have duplicate transaction numbers

Almost all of my transactions are receiving duplicate transaction numbers. I noticed this when I attempted to reverse a transaction and it brought up the transaction, and a transaction from the past.

What can I do to reset the transaction numbering?

Dumb question............... are you entering a balancing account at the time of the journal? If no, NAV will continue adding all the lines to the same transaction number until the entire journal balanced.

    HI,

This only happen when you manually change the entry or transaction no. in General Ledger Setup.

    Thanks,

The transaction number is created in Codeunit 12. It will check your last G/L Entry and add one from the G/L Entry transaction number. There is no setup or reset function.

Technically, your last G/L Entry should have the last transaction number. If not, you might need to check if there is any modification on that.

When you try to reverse a document, it's normally a one document with the same transaction number. I feel like that you're confused this with the entry number which is unique for each line. Transaction number is same for one document number.  I don't think that's an issue or there is anything for you to correct. Please check transactions of Cronus if you want to reconfirm.
