Make invoice field highlightable

Posted on by 130

Does anyone know of a way to make the invoice number field highlightable? (i.e. a field you can copy/paste) We're attempting to use a document managment system that has screen scraper technology to grab highlighted values and open another product via the use of a hot key. I can't seem to find any place in GP 9.0sp4 where I can highlight a single invoice number.g

Darn...neither of those is listed. That's what I was afraid of. I'm definitely going to take a look at those training articles, though. Thanks for all your help!

    Hi

Go to Help >> About Microsoft Dynamics GP >> Options

Look through the module list and see if Modifier & VBA or Customisation Site Enabler are checked.

If Modifier is checked then you can write your own code.  If only Customisation Site Enabler is checked, you can run code written by someone else and provided as a package file.

VBA code is fairly simple and there are lots of examples available.

Training materials can be downloaded too.

I don't think we're registered for Modifier & VBA. How would I determine that? Would it say it on Customer Source? I've read that you can do some interesting things with these features, but I don't write VBA code.

Once an invoice number is entered the field becomes locked and so cannot be copied.

Are you registered for Modifier and VBA, if so it would be fairly easy to create a second editable invoice number field that is not saved in any way, but is just a copy of the actual Invoice Number.  Then you can grab the number from this field.
