Workflow - adding attachments

Hi

Is there a way we can add/attach a document to a workflow itself, a bit like where we add a comment?

We have a process where the approver checks against a source document and when happy presses the button.  It would be good to save that as we cannot attach to the journal batch post approval.

Many thanks in advance

Martyn

    Hey,

Thats not possible. In our processes the approver attaches files on the record itself, i.e. when a tax exempt number is to be approved, the approver attaches it on the vendor and approves the workflow.

    Kind regards, Adis

    Hi Martyn,

As you mentioned, document attachment is not working after journal approval, that can be resolved using Active Document Tables configuration in document management.

    Hi,
Active document tables (Organization administration > Document management > Active document tables) enables attachments for specific forms or tables.
You can evaluate activating this option for the Workflow history table if you want to allow document attachments there.

    Thanks all

I have it working in our test environment but have one question.   From a security aspect, are these attachments stored in the same place as attachments we would have added before workflow/posting?

    The
The Office Web Apps Server box prompted this question.

    Thanks

    From my understanding,

Office Web Apps Server is given to watch the attachments at browser level even if the respective application is not used (excel or word), so it is mainly to allow you open the attachment in the browser.

By default the attachments save in blob storage (default) [Other experts can confirm on this understanding.]

    Regards,
    Neeraj Kumar
