Is there a way to copy a company and not include any transactions? Just set the company up will all of the settings and accounts but no transactions?
Its possible to do with the following customization: www.olofsimren.com/.../
This is for NAV so you would need to get a developer to convert this to a BC extension. Essentially you would:
1. copy your company from an existing company that has transactional data
2. use the data deletion tool to delete all transactional data in the new company
The short answer is no this functionality does not exist. However, you can use the configuration packages to import all the required data. I recommend creating a template company that can be used to create a new company whenever needed.
Does anyone know if the functionality discussed above has been made available?
I really need this as I need an exact copy on an existing company but without data.

There is no built-in, automated way to do this. You could walk through the Manual Setup list and compare everything. The windows that have 'Edit In Excel' on them would allow you to export data that could be imported back into the other company.

Has this feature been added yet, or is there still currently no way to copy everything except transaction data from one company to another? I have a client who has been testing in one company, and now we'd like to copy the setup of the test company over to a production company, but we don't want any transaction data since it's all just test data. If not, do you have any other suggestions on the quickest way to accomplish this, such as a guide of what windows to go to and mimic the setup between test and production?

To provide you some feedback on my experience, I found instructions on creating a new company that said to click settings - my settings - click arrow by company name - click CREATE NEW. It seems odd to me that the COPY button wouldn't exist in that window as well. In general, I find it difficult to find the correct "setup" windows to accomplish what I'm trying to do. I'm most experienced in GP where I can go to the setup page and see what my options are. I struggle to know what to type in the search bar to get to the windows I need. If you wouldn't have told me to go to the "Companies" window, I would have spent much more time trying to find this. It definitely makes it easier to navigate if you know the name of the window or report you want, but if not I find it more difficult than an interface like GP has.

I have a live company that I've done some setup in, but no transaction data yet. I simply want to create an exact copy of the company and duplicate it to a new test company. I'm having trouble finding the button to COPY a company instead of CREATE a new one from scratch. Is this possible and can you provide some quick steps on how to accomplish this?

There isn't currently a way to do this. You could create a copy of a company after the initial setup and use it as a baseline I suppose.
You'd need to use a custom import solution on an empty company to do this.
