Hello

Can AX 2009 client be installed on a windows computer and work without being connected to a domain.

I know you need to authenticate via active directory.

Hi ,

If u are thinking to instal ax 2009 in u r laptop u need to have domain (generally admins give 24 hr time to reconnect to u r domain which can be extended ) Yes you dont have to ocnnect to domain all the time ,And u need to install AOS on u r laptop and configure u r client to connect to it .

I would like to install AX 2009 Client on my personal laptop which is not part of my company domain.
But why would I need to install AOS on my laptop for?

No

I suggest to use Terminal Server (e.g. open AX as a Remote Application from the Terminal Server)
