Positions cannot be deleted while dependent Position worker assignments exist. Delete dependent Position worker assignments and try again.

what does this mean and how to i fix it? i have several employees entered twice. Not sure how it happened. But when i try and delete them i get this error and have no clue where to even start to look for the dependent position worker assignment

Positions cannot be deleted while dependent Position worker assignments exist. Delete dependent Position worker assignments and try again.
