Cannot post Intercompany journal with suspended dimensions in originating company

Hi,

I am trying to post an intercompany journal in AX2012 R2 using the following scenario:

Financial dimension value 1 and 2 are suspended for the Originating company but active for the Destination company.

I created an intercompany journal using three vouchers: 

Voucher1: Ledger DR $3000 in Originating company

Voucher2: Ledger CR $2000 to dimension 1 in Destination company

Voucher3: Ledger CR $1000 to dimension 2 in Destination company

When I try to post the journal I receive the error message that Dimension 1 and 2 are suspended. If I remove the suspension for dimension value 1 and 2 against the Originating company then the error message disappears when I post the journal again. This is an issue as dimension 1 and 2 should only be active against the Destination company and suspended against all other legal entities within AX.

Can you please suggest a workaround/solution?

    Hi Sarita,

    It is because for originating company system will post the credit entries to the intermediary account specified at the GL>Setup>Posting>Intercompany accounting with Dim1 & Dim2 . So you cannot use suspended dimensions in intercompany transactions.

    Hi Sarita,

    When recording intercompany transactions through journals, AX uses the intercompany accounts setup in GL "in between".

    Can you please try the following: In the company where the financial dimensions are suspended setup a valid (non-suspended) fixed dimension value for the ledger accounts setup under GL/setup/intercompany accounting. This should ensure that the suspended financial dimensions are not touched and that your postings should go through.
