Dear Madam/Sir,
Can someone confirm if the Landed Cost module automatically updates standard costs of items (D365 F&O)?
We would like to make sure that item A which currently has a standard cost of 100 EUR does not have a standard cost of 101 EUR next month because of costs variations recorded in the Landed cost module from last months shipments.
From what I can tell from the background literature, the Landed Cost module allows you to book variances (Actual vs Planned), but does not automatically changes standard costs. The change of standard costs has to happen from within Cost Management and can include the variances booked by Landed cost module (if chosen to include these).
The reason for asking lies in the fact that we may want to choose to implement the Landed Cost module primarily first to cater for the need to track inbound shipments while (due to resources) put less emphasis in the costs elements in this module.
Thank you in advance for your insight, much appreciated.
Koen
PS, relevant resources reviewed:
Hi Koen,
Using landed cost should not update the standard cost automatically. If the variations are too large, it would be time to reevaluate the cost and check if it should be changed. This is a manual exercise.
