How do you setup to have End User customers as well as Dealer customers?

We have two different types of customer: End Users and Dealers. They have different field labels and different things associated with them but they both seem to be "customers" within Dynamics CRM. Can I have different customer groups? End Users would be Contacts (usually individuals) and Dealers would be Accounts with Contacts.

If there is a reference or guide or exampe where I can read up on that question, it would be very handy. Thanks.

Hi,  You can define a relationship to account as they relate to your business. Under account Entity, you can select a relationship type as Reseller, Dealer, customer, partner and so on. (you can create new relationships as well and relate to your accounts). Similarly, you can do the same for your contacts. Generally, you would want contacts to be associated under an Account (Customer company). However, you can also create contacts in CRM with no accounts (standalone contacts).  So I would define Accounts of type dealers and group all related contacts under each Account. Then, I would create contacts (standalone). Hope this helps.

    Hi Raj,

If we map the dealer as a account, how will we allow the dealer user to login to MS CRM and perform functionality.

Hi Jitendra,   you can allow/restrict CRM users to specific account say dealer account through permisions and security roles. you can share specific dealer accounts and their underlying contacts with users selectively. Depending on the scope you set for the user to access your company data - users level, busines unit, parent or org level etc.,
