Follow Up Emails Workflow

I have created a date and time field labeled "Next Follow Up". Salesman can enter a date to follow up with an Account, Contact, Opportunity or Lead and I have created a Workflow to send an email on the day stated in the Next Follow Up field. This is a simple Workflow that works as a Check Condition to make sure that the record is active (if not cancel) If it is an active record, there is a Wait until function that Times Out 7 hours after Next Follow Up date. This would be 7am. The emails are being sent through Outlook from myself, as we are running on Exchange Server 2013 and cannot support the Email Router plug in. Only some of the emails send from me to the salesman in the morning. I am not sure why some of them go through and others don't? The salesman are accessing their email through an iPad, not desktop Outlook. The emails will only send from me if I am connected through a desktop Outlook. 

Any help on this would be tremendously appreciated. I am trying to get Follow Up emails to send and it doesn't work.

    Is the organization using only the Outlook Client and not the email router for the CRM/Outlook integration?

    We are only using the Outlook Client. The email router only supports up to Exchange Server 2010 SP2 and we are running on Exchange 2013.

    Hi Caleb,

    Workflow emails will be sent from the outlook only when the CRM Outlook Plugin is installed.  

    Also, workflow emails will be sent only when your outlook client is running, otherwise emails will remain in Pending state in CRM.  I hope that you can view those emails in CRM from  Activities -> E-mail -> My Pending Email

    Also, when a workflow email(s) is ready to be sent, a prompt appears in Outlook with message "One or e-mail messages in Microsoft Dynamics CRM are waiting to be sent. Do you want Microsoft Dynamics CRM to send e-mail through outlook?"  If you ignore this prompt or press 'No' button, emails will not be sent and remain in pending state in CRM.

    Btw, is it mandatory that these specific emails should be sent only from your outlook? If not, please advise. We recently came up with a solution and it has been working great so far.
