I am setting up MSM for a transnational organization that has offices across the globe. The reporting obligations may vary by country; some are aligned with calendar years, while others follow financial years. Is there a way to set up multiple reporting year profiles?

The reporting period in MSM cannot overlap each other. I would suggest creating these multiple reporting year profiles at your custom reporting layer

Alternatively, on top of what Goksel suggested, you could also create multiple environments, one per each "country" or whichever way you break it down where the reporting periods would vary.

Is there a single consolidated view the company wants? How would they then prefer to view the data with the different reporting periods in that case? Always per country? Or?
