    Hi,

Just want to check whether you are using Department as dimension also. If yes, then you can use filtration can be used for dimension.

Compare Project and Non-Project in Financial Reports
    1. Use Dimensions for Project and Department
    • Ensure that Project and Department are set up as dimensions in Business Central.
    • Assign these dimensions to your transactions (e.g., sales, purchases, journals).
    2. Create or Edit a Financial Report
    • Go to Financial Reports in Business Central.
    • Create a new report or edit an existing one.
    3. Define Row Definitions
    • In the Row Definition, assign Row No. like P0014 to P0024 for different financial elements.
    • For each row:
      • Set Totaling Type to Posting Account or Account Category.
      • Set Totaling to the relevant G/L accounts or categories.
    4. Use Dimension Filters in Column Definitions
    • In the Column Definition, create two columns:
      • One for Project (e.g., Dimension filter: Project = XYZ)
      • One for non-Project (e.g., Dimension filter: Department = ABC)
    • This allows you to compare side-by-side in the same report.
    5. Preview and Adjust
    • Use the Preview feature to check the layout.
    • Adjust row or column definitions as needed.

    🧠 Example Setup
Row No. Description Totaling Type Totaling
    P0014 Revenue Posting Account 40000..40999
    P0015 Expenses Posting Account 50000..59999
    Column Description Dimension Filter
C1 Project XYZ Project = XYZ
C2 Department ABC Department = ABC

    Hi
You could rely on a "project" dimension and add this value in the operations and then analyze the dimensions

    Hello @CU08052056-0,

To compare both Project and non-Project (e.g., Department) in a financial report in Business Central, you need to create a Row Definition that includes lines for both types projects (e.g., P0014, P0019) and departments (e.g., F0018). You can manually define each Row No. with appropriate dimension filters in the Row Definition setup to separate project-specific lines from department or other non-project lines. This allows both sets to appear together in the same financial report for side-by-side comparison.

Hope this answer will help you!

    Regards,
    Mansi Soni

    Hello,

You can use dimensions like "Project" and "Department" to filter and organize financial data.

Set up these dimensions in your transactions, then create or edit a financial report with row definitions for relevant accounts and column definitions that apply dimension filters—one for Project and one for Department.

And you can view side-by-side financial performance across both categories, enabling clear and structured comparison.

You can achieve this by using Dimensions in your financial report setup. Assign a specific dimension value (e.g. "PROJECT") for project-related entries, and leave it blank or use another value (e.g. "NONPROJECT") for non-project ones.

In the Financial Report row definitions, create separate rows with filters like:

    Department = PROJECT

    Department = NONPROJECT

This will let you compare both categories side by side in the report.
