Business Process Flow and Workflow triggers

Hello,

I have some misunderstanding about workflows triggered from BPS(Business Process Flow).

  • First I don't understand why global workflow set on trigger 'process completed' doesn't start when I finish BPS on an entity. Although I have properly working global workflow on trigger 'Process applied'
  • Second I have a last stage and there is a workflow attached to this stage and set to run on trigger 'Exist Stage' so when I click finish I assume that that workflow should run but it doesn't, so does it mean that I have to have a stage ahead for 'Exist Stage' in previous stage to work?

    Hi,

    1. "process applied" trigger when the bpf applied to the record.

    2. if you want to trigger the workflow when you click finish, it should be " process completed"

    see on below post,

    Hi,

Is your workflow on demand?? if not please make it as Run on demand because if it is not then it won't trigger.

    Thanks,

    Shahbaaz

RE: Business Process Flow and Workflow triggers

    Hi Sergey,

The best resource I could find that could help you in this regard is the following: blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../business-process-flow-automation-in-dynamics-365

Global workflows are only trigger on activation of the business process flow stage (when you move to that stage) or when the stage has been set to Finished or Abandoned.

Stage workflows wouldn't work as a closing workflow, that would be a Global. Stage workflows would only run when moving to another stage or entering the stage the workflow is triggered from.

This workflow basically works off the change of the process ID field where the process ID field matches, then it either runs or waits till the process ID matches.
