Relation between user and salesperson

Hi all,

What is in NAV the relation between a user and a sales person?

Or is there any?

My case:
When some user logs in (a salesperson ) I want to show all orders for a that user.

As far as I can see you can assign as salesperson to a sale orders. But the salesperson is not as user that can login.

Any hints are welcome.

Thanks,

Patrick

    Patrick,

A salesperson can be a user and vice versa, if you setup salesperson as user in Navision then he can login and view the salesorders.

In order to setup security so that user can see only those orders which he is a salesperson you need to use Security Filters, please refer below link for that.

    Hi Suresh,

I understand the possibilities with the security filters.

But I don't see the whole picture. Tell me if this scenario is correct:

I create a salesperson (code) for each user who creates sales orders.

When a user creates a sales order he selects his salesperson code in the sales header.

I set the permissions for each user (salesperson) individually so that he can only see sales orders with his salesperson-code assigned to it.

    Thanks,

    Patrick

    Patrick,

There may be a better way but on this your assumptions are correct and that's what i was thinking too.

    HI,

    Just a Thought -

    1. If you add a field in SalesPerson table, link that field to user ID. So you can map Salesperson to user.

** Code in a way that only one user id is mapped to one sales Person.

    2. You can apply Filter on Open Of List Pages of Say Sales Order to Get SalesPerson having That ID Filled.

    3. On Insert Record of Sales Header Table You can setup SalesPerson Code Based on User Login.

** Remember in that case there should be 1 to 1 Mapping Between Salesperson and user.

    Hope it helps.
