Hi,
Searching for examples of how to solve warehouse management when warehouse is used both for picking customer orders, and when customers has access to same warehouse and picks their own goods.
We have an open warehouse where customers can pick their own goods and go to a check out counter. The same warehouse is used for picking customer orders. Does anyone else have that setup in DYN365FO? How have you solved it system wise? Our wish is to use hand scanners for customers and pickers. In the warehouse we also have some goods intended for specific customer, that should not be picked by random customer. Are you using standard Dyn365FO or ISV solutions, and in that case which ones?
Hi Anette,
Ok, thanks for the background information! You might consider to do a import of the items via the Excel add-in.
Other option is the 'Add lines' function or 'Add products function' for adding multiple items:

Thank you Laurens, really good input. The answers to your questions, yes the customers go to the check out today and a sales order is created so that would work. Right now we do not have fixed locations for customer specific goods on all our warehouses (we have 31 sites), depending on site size and occurence of the customer specific goods, but this is of course a matter of how we choose to set the warehouse up. Today we are running Ax 4.0, but the group is rolling out 365 and soon it is our turn.
When the goods is transferred to the check-out, is there any functionality to help me create the sales order, or I need to do that from scratch and type in all items?

Hi Anette,
A few ideas/suggestions from my side. It might be an idea to configure the movement by template functionality. With the movement by template function the customer can scan/pick the items and bring them to a specific location (check out). Once on the check out location, you can process them via a sales order for the payment. However, a few additonal questions: 1) Do you create a sales order before the customer check out? 2) Are the customer specific goods held on a specific location?
Regards,
Laurens
