Hi,

Service update failed while updating from 10.0.14 to 10.0.27

any help highly appreciated.

Thank you all for your valuable support.

As i found the following log

The step 26 failed with the following error:

[12:09:06.4175] Failure running the VSIX installer.

I just uninstall the current [Microsoft.Dynamics.Framework.Tools] from visual studio extensions and reinstall Microsoft.Dynamics.Framework.Tools.Installer.vsix, taken from deployable package

It has been resolved my issue.

Hi Eng,

If you keep having issues, you can spent a lot of time solving it. You can also consider deploying a new environment as this would also have the most recent best practices for several configurations.

I have VS 2017 15.9 and same .NET framework as you have mentioned, but still i am not able to update the env.

Hi Eng.Khan,

Can you check if you still have Visual Studio 2015 installed on this VM? The support for this version has been deprecated. Before you can upgrade you need to install Visual Studio 2017 or 2019 on this VM. Also, you need to install .NET framework 4.7.2 prior the update.

An alternative to get to the latest version would be deploying a new VM with the current version.
