E-mail form is always 'dirty' - can't convert an e-mail to a case - PLEASE HELP

I'm setting up a new customer CRM 2016 Online solution, but embarrassingly we can't go live, because we can't convert e-mails from a queue to a case because of a bug:

  1. When opening the e-mail from the queue we get this error when converting to a case
    1. "You must save the changes before you can convert this activity."
  2. If I just open the mail, and hit back on the browser - the e-mail form is dirty (on the from field - checked by this tip: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/32735019/dirty-form-with-no-dirty-fields-on-crm-2015-online).
    1. "Your changes have not been saved. To stay on the page so that you can save your changes, click Cancel."

IF the from field is a CRM resolved contact, the e-mail form is not dirty! No other log's are available - and I've tested it in other customers 2016 Online environment, where the form dirty problem is also there on unresolved senders! We were supposed to have 2016 SP 1 rolled on yesterday evening, but this has been canceled and postponed 14 days by Microsoft!

This means that we cannot start using CRM, since queue/case is main business to cover in phase 1!

Any ideas on how to fix this on the email form is very appreciated ??

(It's very embarrassing explaining this error in core functionality to an surprised new customer! And we are already running one support case on the new Knowledge Article functionality - that you can't search in a Knowledge Article language outside you user default set CRM language - which is hilariuos in multiple language support situations - but this I've tested in a 2016sp1 trial and is now working (which the support guy haven't found out yet and are instead asking me to do business case on the functionality).

Environment:

Brand new 2016 Online (8.0.1.107), 2016 e-mail router fetching e-mails to a public queue

All tested browsers are affected (IE, Chrome & Safari)

    How is your jScript?

You could try and find the dirty field and set the submitmode to false (this should remove the Dirty flag) possibly allowing you to save the record?

Thanks Jonathan, but there is no scripts - it's a clean e-mail form.

sorry, i meant that you could write some javascript to find the field that is causing a problem and set it to not be dirty.

Ahh, Thanks for the suggestion - I will try this workaround, although the form should not be dirty out of the box. I'll get back with an update.

    Hi Jonathan,

I tried your suggestion ... and if I run the script below on email form on-load, I do not get the error, when the e-mail address is unresolved. I hope this error will get solved on SP1. We booked an update 6th of June, but it was postponed until the 19th., and the support case team couldn't initiate a fast track update, even though this is a brand new Online customer who are not very happy.

I'll mark this post answered, even thoug it's just a quick fix. Thanks for your suggestion!

    BR Henrik

This is fixed in  8.1.0.362 and so upgrade to 2016 SP1.
