As azure being expensive, we would like to move data from D365 to On prem sql?

Yes, Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations supports on-premises deployment.

Hello YOG,

If I get you right, you have a cloud hosted D365FO deployment and you would want to get the cloud database to SQL database hosted on-premises.

Kindly explain better.

Hi Komi,

Yes, you're understanding is correct. We have D365FO hosted in cloud and currently using Azure SQL as byod. However want to move from Azure SQL to on prem SQL

Hi YOG,

You would have to take the backup of the database from a LCS which comes a .bacpac file and restore on Sql studio using a powershell command. Here is the sequence.

Hi YOG,

The export to BYOD is only supporting Azure SQL. If you need the data on-premise, you need to have a second tool to bring the data from Azure SQL to your on-prem SQL database.
