System defined Financial dimension (Department) is not showing

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

In the "Use values from" in the Financial dimensions form, 'Department' is not showing. Also other dimensions also not visible. Due to this we are not able to access the Financial dimensions form from GL module. If you see the below image, Department is not showing.

Not sure why this is not visible. ABA31863.PNGCould someone help me on this?

    Hello Sathish Kumar P,

I think that you should have a talk to a developer.

On LCS there is no similar reported issue available and it might be the result of a problem with your system that a developer can identify.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Thanks Ludwig for responses.

I agree with you that the Department should show as it is visible under GL -> Set up.

Yes, I see the same issue in both DEV and TEST environment as well. As per my knowledge, there are no modification that we have done here and I am not sure that what has happened all of sudden.

I wonder that how this Department and other standard FINDIMs are not visible in the "EntityList".

    Hello Sathish,

If organizational 'department' units are setup then you should see the 'department' findim and the elements in GL under the findims.

If you open a different test/demo environment, do you see the same issue?

Are you aware of any modifications that have been made and that might be responsible for this?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Yes... there are Departments created under GL-> Set up -> Legal entities.

    Hi,

Do you have organizational units setup and classified as departments?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
