Yes transfer journal is good but can we use BOM journal as well?
I prefer the transfer journal as I find it easier but BOM journal is inventory journal so it could work as well. You'd have 3 lines: 2 with negative quantities were you deduct inventory and one with positiive quantity where you add a new quantity to a new (or existing) batch number. You could probably simplify it with one negative and one positive if it was moving to an existing batch with existing quantity but I would test to make sure. I still think tranfer journal is better.
