We have CRM 2011 in a production enviroment and I need to access the Deployment Manager, when I try to open it I get an error that the CRM Deployment Snap-in will not load, then I get the following error code FX:{1ac9de3e-24ae-480d-9e15-65386b76e433}

and it says Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

I have tried checking the accounts in active directory and they all have the right permissions and I am using the account that was oridignally used to set up dynamics, Help!

    1. Right click and run as administrator.

    2. Reboot the Server.

if those don't work then CRM still can't find the DNS host name for the AD controller, so try the following:

Add the Preferred Domain Controller value to MS CRM registry entries:HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MSCRM

Step 1. Right Click and click on NewString value as "PreferredDc"

Step 2. Add the value to PreferredDc which is YourDomainControllerName you can find this in your AD by typing the command in your cmd prompt echo %logonserver%

I had already tried the first two with no luck,

I have adding PreferredDc as a new string with \\SERVER1 as the value but still no luck,

Thanks for the suggestions and quick response Jerry, any more ideas??

    Hi RiclanCRM,

I'm not sure if it applies in this case specifically, but this KB article also outlines a scenario in which this error can occur if your SQL server has been renamed since Dynamics CRM was first installed. The KB covers two stored procedures ("sp_dropserver" and "sp_addserver") that can be executed to resolve that particular issue.

    Hello,

Can you please confirm the answers of below question:

    1. Are you logged into CRM server as Domain Administrator? The reason you need to Domain Admin so that you can access the security groups created in Active Directory.

    2. Are you a Deployment Administrator in CRM? As only deployment Administrators will be able to access Deployment Manager, we can confirm the same by checking into SQL Server.

--- Connect to SQL Server Management Studio.

      --- Run query as below:

          SELECT TOP 1000 [DefaultOrganizationId]

         ,[Id]

         ,[IsDisabled]

         ,[Name]

         ,[IsDeleted]

         FROM [MSCRM_CONFIG].[dbo].[SystemUser]

Note: We are just retrieving value and not intend to make any modification.

--- You will find a user record with DefaultOrganizationID as 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 is the Deployment Administrator.

--- Check the username and make sure you are logged into CRM server with that credentials.

    3. Apart from the error you mentioned, do you also see Stack Messages? It will be helpful if you can send that across to me. A screenshot will also work.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

    Regards,

    Durgesh
