Pointing AX to a new DB Server

Hi,

I changed the Database Server (Which is a replica of a working AX Database) from Microsoft Dynamics AX Server configuration, restarted AOS on prompt and saved the configuration as a file. But when I run the file I'm getting the below error:

---------------------------
The command-line parameter -compressionminsize=1024 is invalid. Check the spelling and start Microsoft Dynamics AX again.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

    Possible cause, and a solution:

    You are using an Ax configuration file to start Ax. But instead of using a configuration file created for an Ax client, you are using a configuration file of the Dynamics Ax AOS server.

    Make sure to use the Ax client configuration utility to create the AXC file, not the server configuration utility.

    Thanks F. G. That was the exact issue.

    Figured out that we have to create an Active Configuration in ax client conf tool which will pick up the current DB Server from AX Server Conf tool.

    Wondering what is the use of Server Conf file that I made?
