Roll up costs on assembly BOM on multiple items?

Hi,

I need the value /Standard cost/ updated on all my assembly BOMs, /Unit cost/ apparently contains some variations that make it not usable in my scenario. On Items I can do:
Related - Bill of Materials - Assembly - Calc. Assembly Std. Cost

This works very well, BUT - only for 1 item! How do I specify a range of items????

I then found the page /Standard Cost Worksheet/. This seems to do exactly what I need - except it apparently (Im told) also manipulates booked inventory costs! I only need the standard cost value updated.

Any good ideas??

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Christian

If you recalculate your Standard Cost, it is highly recommended to also revalue your current inventory to the new Standard Cost.  It sounds like you know where this needs to happen, just need to finish the process.

    Hi All :)

I also need to know the above, I'm in exactly the same position, can anyone help please?

So far I have discovered that I can use the Standard Cost Worksheet section, I went with 'Suggest Item Standard Cost' to start, I filtered on 'Assembly' for replenishment system and under Assembly BOM selected Yes as I only need to update the Assembly BOM products costs, as I have updated all the component costs in edit in excel as we add an inflation amount before we work out the GBP on US parts, I then ran it and it populated the page, I then tried to select 'Roll Up Standard Cost' assuming it would do this for the populated list but I got an error: 'The Item does not exist. Identification fields and values: No.='

I assume I am filtering correctly to capture just assembled parts?
Is there a way I can manipulate the list before implementing prices, as I could do with removing a few parts if possible?
Any idea why I got the error message and how to resolve so I can implement the costs?

I'm new to Dynamic so appreciate layman's terms :)

like Ben explains, this is normal behavior and here is why. If you change the standard cost of an item open in inventory. BC will determine if the date specified on the new roll up affects existing inventory. So you need to ensure to put the correct date that BC update costs of the item on and prior to this date

I have my items populated in the standard cost worksheet, so I assumed that now I just press 'Roll Up Standard Cost' but when I do I get this error? Any help would be appreciated :)

I need a step by step guide as I think there must be a few steps to this and want to ensure I don't miss anything.
