Calculation on Sales Quote based on Purchase Quote

Hello, I am new to BC and now using SaaS with v20.

Is it possible somehow to connect purchase quote (from vendor) with sales quote (to customer) with line items?

In the business of reselling, it is needed to be connected to show the same items / quantities, but to also have "deal calculation", based on "sales price" and "cost price".

If not, I may want to manually enter the sales price on the sales quote, but also the cost price on sales quote. However, after showing the "cost price" on sales quote, it is read only, so I cannot have simple profit calculation on per line item basis, nor per whole sales document (deal) document.

Any suggestions for using fast "calculations" with purchase and sales prices in BC? or should I revert manually to doing it simple in excel? I am trying to move this info also to ERP / BC.

Thank you

    Hrvoje,

The Purchase Quote and Sales Quote documents are not linked. Purchase Order and Sales Order can be linked for Drop Shipments, Special Orders, or applying a Reservation.

You can reflect on the Sales Line the Unit Cost of the Item, though non-editable. You could open the Statistics page to show Gross Profit. If you are trying to link a Purchase Quote specifically, then I would contact your Partner who can write an extension to add this custom link and related information.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Thank you for reply.

In my case, probably making "cost" field on sales quote > line item as visible and editable would be enough.

How to make "cost" field editable on sales quote line items?

From where does the value comes from and how it is used on sales quote?

    Thank you

    Hrvoje,

I am not a developer but you will need to ask a developer to assist to make the field editable on the page. Also, the value of any Items Cost that appear on a Sales Document, pulls from the Unit Cost field on the Item Card. This should be valid since it is being updated continuously. I would consider playing in CRONUS the Quote process and then decide. I have never had to expose the Unit Cost field and would not recommend it, when creating a quote since the Unit Cost on a quote is temporary, depending on the Costing Method of the Item (unless Standard Cost).

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

This info sales quote - line item (sales price, cost price) is not enough from Item card, and needs to be manually entered directly on the sales quote.

So, my case is creating a custom (inline) directly on Sales Quote with manually written sales price and cost price for having fast profit calculation (per line item basis) and total one.
