How do I change the status of a vat report to closed

I have submitted my last quarters vat return and calculated and posted it but it is still showing as open, when I go back into the vat return, calculate and post is available for me to choose, but then apart from turning on the button on post, I can t get it to submit. My figures have moved to the relevant places on chart of accounts so would appear I have already done this but it will not close off.

Hi Nichola, were you able to resolve this issue, as I am experiencing the same thing, and cannot work out how to "close" the open VAT return in BC?

Go to VAT Return Periods

Select the period that is Accepted and you want to close

then click on Get VAT Return Periods:

Make sure the start date and end date is same as your VAT return Periods

Then it will communicate with HMRC and change to Closed.
