Hi All
Is there a way to change the row order once a quote is created for example line 1 move down ? This is for printing so the printout comes with sorting of rows however we like. Can the word print designer handle and extra field with numeric values for sorting? I could nt find and on screen option to do so. Can a customisation work with a column for manual numbers for sorting

I might offer an alternative solution that I'm hoping is a bit easier for you to implement. Custom PCF controls are bits of code, typically offered in a managed solution, that change the way users interact with fields or grids in CRM.

The linked PCF Control above was written to change the subgrid behavior and allow users to drag and drop lines to rearrange them. There is some setup to make this work, but putting this in place should meet what you are looking for and give ultimate flexibility to the users.

    • Download and install the managed solution that includes the PCF Control
    • On your quote lines table, create a new field called "Sort Order" and that has a type of Whole Number
    • On your Quote form, go to the Quote Lines subgrid and Add the custom component. Update the settings to define your new sort field, autosave, stuff like that.
    • Make sure your subgrid view is set to sort on your new Sort Order field, smallest to largest
    • Save and publish your changes

Once set up, users should be able to drag and drop to rearrange and you have a sorted number field by which to create your documents and such.

    Hello Samantha,

You're right, there's no direct drag-and-drop or built-in reordering of Quote product lines (Quote Line Items) within the Dynamics 365 Sales Quote form.

Here's a simple way to use Power Automate to print your quote lines in a specific order:

    1. Save your quote template in OneDrive: Store your quote print template in your OneDrive.

    2. Use Power Automate: Create a Power Automate flow.

    3. Fill the template: Use Power Automate to fill in the template with your quote data.

    4. Sort the lines: In Power Automate, sort the quote lines how you want them.

    5. Make a PDF: Use Power Automate to turn the filled template into a PDF.

    6.

Important: This takes time to set up, but it gives you control over the order of your printed quote lines.

The field created on doesn't work as we are trying to re=sort after creating so the original order of rows need to be changed something like UP/DOWN arrows in other ERP systems where you can re-sort or some customisation if its possible

    Hello,

There is a field called "Created on" that is always updated with the date and time that the record is created.
What about use this field to sort your view?
