Revise Quote - without creating a new Quote

Revising an Active Quote always creates a new Quote. Any which I can control this functionality?

    Haven't done it since 2015 but you should still be able to change Status to In Progress or Draft and make changes. Use a dialouge, Workflow or SDK.
