Hello Guys,

In Dynamics AX 2012 R3, can AX cover for multiple scenario for consolidation such as: full consolidation, equity method, proportionate, joint venture, etc.

Since I couldn't find any field to entry the % of ownership for holding company to its subsidiries.

If yes, can you give me the link or material that I can learn about this function.

Many thanks in advance,

M.H.

    Hello M. Hasan,

AX can only do simple consolidations. Consolidations according to the equity method and for joint ventures are not or not fully supported. For those consolidation scenarios you can either make numerous system adjustments or you need to make use of specialized consolidation software.

Maybe the consolidation features in Management Reporter are an option for you. Yet, also when using the Management Reporter you will need to do many manual consolidation steps outside and Import them e.g. through Excel.

Unfortunately, financial consolidations is one of the "weakpoints" of AX :-(

Can you suggest any software for consolidation  which can support all the business requirements and can integrate easily with new AX version as one of my client also looking for the consolidation software ?

    Hello lally,

Most companies I worked with either used IBM Cognos, SAP or a local consolidation software provider such as Lucanet for Germany (in my case).

Please note that there can be huge price differences, so you need to analyze and compare differences in detail.

    All the best,

    Ludwig
