Creating a campaign and emailing sales literature

Hi all,

Could someone please confirm the correct procedure for email people within a campaign and attaching sales literature?

My understanding is that we should:

  • Create sales literature.
  • Create a Marketing list (made up of accounts that we would like to send marketing emails too)
  • Create the campaign

Now it is at this point that I am assuming that you can add Sales literature to the campaign and then just send it but I cannot work out where you attach this sales literature.

I have sales literature in the appropriate area but I do not appear to be able to attach it other than if I were to go into my Outlook and create an email to a specific person.

Surely the idea is that you create a campaign and then click a button, which triggers the email to the marketing list and sends them the attachment?

Any able to help, I don't believe this is very intuitive but I may be wrong.

Thanks all

    Thanks Aileen.

One of those links no longer appears to work but I had read the other one.

The main issue now is that when I try and send sales literature to an account I receive the following message 'At least one recipient does not have an email address or is marked as "Do Not Allow" email.'.

I created a new test account

    I added two test users

I ensured that all emails address fields were complete and that the account is allowed to receive emails but still I receive this message.

Starting to look like a bug to me.

    Anyone else have thoughts?

    Hi Wayne,

    This is the link:

Make sure the sender also has valid email also.

    Thanks

    Hi Aileen,

I am just coming back to this after I was diverted to other tasks.

Having gone back through everything I recently found articles showing that you should start a campaign activity and select 'email'.  When you 'Distribute Campaign Activity' it brings up the email screen but when I scroll down there is no where that you can attach any literature.  Does anyone else experience this?

    Thanks all

My latest discovery is that the option to add attachments is also missing when I try and create a new template but is visible on existing default templates.

Anyone know if there is a permission setting that could be hiding this in CRM 2013?

    Hi Wayne,

But can you see the sales literature entity first?

    Hi Aileen,

Yes, sales literature is there but there is simply no option to attach items.

Very strange, I suspect it may be a bug as I am unable to find others with a similar problem.

What security role you are having it may your security role issue ?? if you have security role with limited access then try high security and check if you are facing same issue.
