eConnect Installation issue

Hello,

I trust that you are all well.

I am trying to install eConnect for MS Dynamics GP2010. After all the relevant information that I fill in, it starts to install. A Few seconds later it just ends with a message:

A FATAL ERROR WAS ENCOUNTERED.

"The eConnect for MS Dynamics GP2010 has ended prematurely"

Any idea what would cause this and how I could resolve it.

Thanks,

Jay

    Hello Jonathan,

Thanks for the reply. May I please ask what you mean by did I do a Windows Log? If you mean if I checked the logs in the EVENT VIEWER etc, then yes I have checked them and do not find anything there that relates to my issue.

With regards to another domain, I tried that, and if i select a different domain, i am unable to even get past the login screen.

I even logged in as ADMINISTRATOR and still have the issue.

    Regards,

    Jay

A Windows installer log is a log file that you can enable which will capture information about the application you are installing.

I too get the same issue, in my event viewer I get the following error:

Product: eConnect for Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 - Update 'KB2435574' could not be installed. Error code 1603. Windows Installer can create logs to help troubleshoot issues with installing software packages. Use the following link for instructions on turning on logging support: go.microsoft.com/fwlink

You can run a logged econnect install.  Usually this will give more information about the issue.

The following syntax for 32-bit installation can be used.  Copy the msi file to a folder on the C drive called eConnect and use the following syntax in a command prompt in the c:\eConnect directory. (If you are on 64 bit, simply edit the name of the msi file below to Microsoft_DynamicsGP11_eConnect_x64_en-us.msi.)

    Msiexec.exe /i Microsoft_DynamicsGP11_eConnect_x86_en-us.msi /qb /l*v eConnectInstall.log INSTALLDIR=”C:\eConnect” USERNAME=<username> USERPASSWORD=<password> USERDOMAIN=<domain> SQL_SERVER_NAME=<sqlservername>

Note - Replace the <> parameters with the real values like the following example:

    Msiexec.exe /i Microsoft_DynamicsGP11_eConnect_x86_en-us.msi /qb /l*v eConnectInstall.log INSTALLDIR=”C:\eConnect” USERNAME=yourname USERPASSWORD=password123 USERDOMAIN=DOMAIN1 SQL_SERVER_NAME=SQLDATA1

Then look at the eConnectInstall.log and there should be some indicator what the issue is.

    Hello,

what should I need to add to the command line installation to tell that I'll use sql authentication?

    Thanks.
