Convert HQ database to a single store

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I have a client who has a multi-store set up in HQ, but he will be closing all stores except one, and would like to change the HQ database to a single store RMS database.  Is there an export/import procedure for that?

Thanks,

Mathew

If they want to stop using HQ and operate only one store....

    - Uninstall the HQ Client application at the store

    - Reset the security settings so that at least one security level can create data previously managed by HQ (items, departments, suppliers, tenders, etc.)

    - There is a KB in Partnersource that explains how to reset the storeID; I don't think it's necessary, to reset it back to zero, but it would put the SO database back to its original state (single store operations db has a storeid of zero).

    Can you clarify

    - do they want to keep HQ and just operate one store

    - or do they want to stop using HQ and just operate one store

If they want to keep HQ and just one store - say,HQ is in Dallas, the store is in NY - do they want to remove all closed store information from the HQ database?

If you prefer to use HQ, i dont think export and import will do. Backup you database and call a database expert to manually delete all data pertaining to the stores which will be closed.
