sdk.rest.createrecord error

Hello, I'm trying to use the SDK.REST.createRecord method but I'm getting the following error message:

Error : 500: Internal Server Error: The 'Create' method does not support entities of type 'new_myentity1_new_myentity2'.

Looks like SDK.REST.createRecord may not work on n:n entities. Is my inference correct?
