Hi all,
Could I please get help.
I have a BoM with a manufactured item attached to it and it's set to Pegged Supply (so when the top level is estimated it will create a sub level Works Order - However If I have available stock I'd like it automatically use that stock - what it appears to be doing is creating a Works Order to make more everytime even though I have free stock.
Is this correct?
Thanks
Hello RWJFuller,
I have found following resources on Pegged supply:
community.dynamics.com/.../589494
docs.microsoft.com/.../about-line-types
docs.microsoft.com/.../formulas-versions
Anything useful in those links ?
Hi,The behavior you are seeing for pegged supply BOM lines is correct.
This is also described in documentation:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamicsax-2012/appuser-itpro/about-line-types
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/supply-chain/production-control/bill-of-material-bom
If you need the on-hand to be consumed first, you should leave the BOM line type as "Item" and allow Planning to generate Planned production orders for the BOM line whenever on-hand is not sufficient to cover the demand. The BOM line that is expected to be also produced should have Default order setting = Production.
I hope this will help.
Best regards,
Gabriel
