How to do quality check in goods revieving process and not during putaway

I know how to setup quality check in goods in put away process.
unfortunately this does not fit to my needs because in this setup the forklift driver who does the putaway work has to check the quality.

I wonder if or how it is possible to change the process to integrate the quality check in goods receiving process so that the quality check is integrated in the mobile device work creation process “Puchase order line receiving”.
Problem is that the quality check step in integrated in the work template for Purchase orders. But this one controls the put away work. For goods receiving there is no work template.

What I want to archive is a process like this:

  • Menu item purchase order line receiving
  • Worker is asked for quality check
  • If check is ok then
    • Putaway work is created for warehouse location
  • If check is failed
    • Putaway work is created for quality check location
    • Quality order is created

So the goods receiving staff can do the quality check and systems creates putaway work which can be done by forklift drivers without any additional tasks.

    Hi,

This can be achieved using work type: Quality in Quality check. Please go through this Microsoft article where detail steps are mentioned.

    Hi,

It's possible with some smart business flow mapping. See the below flow.

    My testing

1 - PO receiving done and put away work is generated as below

2 - Quality supervisor rejects the pallet (Fail scenario)

3 - Old work is closed and a new work is created to move to QC. Quality order is also created.

4 - New work looks like below

5 - Quality order looks like below

In case Pallet was passed / Accepted the pallet would be dropped on the Inbound stage itself after which the warehouse worker will move it further.

1 - After pallet receiving original put away work created like below

2 - Quality supervisor accepts the pallet. (Quality check pass) / Pallet is moved to Inbound stage.

3 - Pallet is taken from Inbound stage to final racking by warehthe ouse worker.

There is no perfect functionality. Sometimes little bit of business process adjustment makes lot of difference. Thats what I believe in. :)

Thank you very much for your answers.

This is the process I know and for my purpuse it seems to be very very inefficient.

I have one step to register the item, another step to do quality check and a third step for transport. Each of these steps needs indiviual menu items and can be one ore more palets/boxes.
if you only have a small number of goods in boxes this would be fine. But in my szenario we have ~200 goods in per day

My idea to reduce the steps is to quality check in step 1 of the picture above. Means I register the box and confirm or deny quality during this step. Then systems creates putaway work to storage or Q-location.

This would reduce a separate activity to do quality check.
