Bing Maps Migration from V7 to V8

Our current on premise Dynamics CRM 2016 system indicates that it is still using Bing Maps V7. Since this is a feature enabled in the CRM system settings by entering a key, will this automatically migrate to V8 at some point via an update? If so, when should this update be available. If not, how do I manually migrate it using MS Dynamics CRM 2016. I've read the migration guide provided by the "Discontinued Control Migration Guidelines" (https://www.microsoft.com/maps/discon-control-migrat-guide.aspx) , but I cannot locate any specifics related to CRM.

There hasn't been any specific communication about this but I expect an update will be released to support V8. V7 is not going to be switched off in June but rather it is out of support. Since CRM2016 will still be in support then we shouldn't have anything to worry about!

Is there any update on this?  I keep getting contacted by Bing maps support warning me that we are using v7 of the API.  I keep replying that we are just using the standard CRM Account and Contact forms and that there is nothing I can do but we don't seem to be getting anywhere.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Microsoft has blogged about the v7 incompatibility on June 30, 2017 that:

The Bing map control will no longer render in forms and that area will appear as blank. We are upgrading the Bing Map AJAX Control to Version 8, and a patch will be available for the supported releases.

Regarding when the patch will be available:

Stay tuned for information on how to get and deploy the patch.

As to what you can do until the patch is ready:

We regret any inconvenience in the meantime.
