I get this error when i try to install BC 2020 Wave 2

ERROR: Package Web Server Components failed with error. See detailed message above.

The details in the installation log is not giving me much to go on.

Anyone got an idea what might cause this?

I am on WinSrv 2018 Datacenter edition.

    Hello,

Error 1603 is a generic error. In the log file there is another log file mentioned:

    C:\Users\bruviki\AppData\Local\Temp\setup.wix.msi.21.log

That log may refer to another one or it has the "real" error. Also application event log file may also have some more information for you.

    Thanks.

In the log you refered to i found this information:

Any more suggestions based on that?

    Hello,

    Please do the following:

    1. uninstall WebClient component via product DVD / setup.exe (Add/Remove Components) or via Control Panel / Change Software

    2. uninstall IIS URL Rewrite Module 2 via Control Panel / Software /Uninstall Software

    3. start up IIS and remove all links to the Microsoft Dynamics NAV WebClient, also remove these from c"\inetpub\wwwroot\<<yourinstancename>>

    4. ensure all components were installed on the product DVD (prerequisites folder) includuing IIS URL Rewrite Module 2

    5. in IIS ensure that there are no bindings set that conflict with the port defined for WebClient (typically 8080); ensure this binding is not being used

    5. reboot PC / Server

    6. perform setup again including WebClient instance and ensure you retype the Service Tier password (if it is not greyed out)

    Thanks.
