Is it possible to secure the payment journal export document?

Hi,

Through the payment journals, we create the entries we want to pay. We then export these to an HTML file, which is then imported into our banking system. It is possible to make changes to the HTML file and subsequently import it. Is there a way to prevent this? In another accounting system, a code was added to the export file. If the HTML file was modified, the code would automatically change, indicating that changes had been made. Is this possible within BC, or is there another way to secure this?

    Hello,

Not sure if the method you were saying is Hash calculation, but it is doable in BC.

As I remember, different banks may have their hash calculation formula and they use the hash value to check if the file has been tampered with after exporting.

Not sure what type of payment export you refer to. If it is an EFT export, the file will be in txt format and user is able to change it and upload to the bank. You got a valid point that this could pose a security issue but this is how the out of box BC feature work.
