Inventory Adjustment - Journal Usage

Hello,
 
Our business has a somewhat frequent need to adjust inventory.. 

Currently we use either the Item Journals or the Adjust Inventory function from the Items page.. 

All I am wondering is are there only specific cases where we should be using the Item Journals over the Adjust Inventory?
 
The reason I would prefer the Item Journals is the Reason Codes - it allows us to report on how often we are adjusting invt. and for what purpose. 

Any and all information is appreciated.

    In fact, the Adjust Inventory function from the Items page is also posted through the Item Journal in the background. This is just a convenient function.
    In addition, there is no Bin, Item Tracking Line, Dimension and other information in Adjust Inventory. And there is also no way to print records when posting. 
    So if you need complete inventory adjustment function, you can only use Item Journal.
