Fixed Assets Reset Life

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello,

We are on GP2010 sp2.

Is there a way to reset asset life for a LARGE group of assets?  In excess of 10000 assets.

Thank you,

Donnette

    RE: Fixed Assets Reset Life

    Hello Naga,

Thank you for the solution.  On some assets where cost basis had changed and the life was equal to 1 year the current deprecation amount resulted in a negative value.   Can we re-run deprecation as of December 2013 to keeps these adjustments in the same calendar year?

Yes you can do so using Fixed Asset Mass Change window. (Transactions >> Fixed Assets >> Mass Change)

    1. Create a group for the Assets you intend to reset.

    2. Select the Asset Group in FA Mass Change window.

    3. Click on Book tab. Select Book, Asset ID and Mark appropriate options.

    4. Chose Reset Life in the radio button options on the right.

    5. Click on Apply Changes.

    Hope it helps.
