Upgrade PSA to version 1.2.2.18 (Project Service Automation)

Hi there,

I'm just wondering if anyone out there has successfully upgraded your PSA version to 1.2.2.18?

To provide a bit of context, we are operating in Australia.  We currently use the sales & psa modules for our business.  We have encountered a number of bugs with the PSA module in particular.

Microsoft's recommendation to resolve these bugs is to upgrade our PSA module to the latest version.  We are attempting to do that, but coming across a number of issues with the upgrade itself.

So my questions are:

a) has anyone who is actively using the PSA module been able to successfully upgrade?

b) if your upgrade required a fix - what was affected & how did you resolve it?

We have applied the fix using the upgrade function within our admin portal (as there are no offline zip files available) - and we immediately have a problem with the GetProjectCurrencies workflow.  We have also had permission issues with our forms (i.e. forms that were not visible, have suddenly become visible).

We are currently working with MS support to try & sort this out - but keen to hear of others experiences with this!!

Cheers, Jean

Hi. We are also in Aus and did upgrade to the same version. We are experiencing a number of issues. Invoicing no longer picks up any project milestones that require invoicing for projects that are in progress. Some of our customisations disappeared also.

    Hi Jean

We're on 1.2.2.18 and have some issues with project costs and revenues not being updated or even calculated at all.  That's the only bug we have found so far so I'm interested in if you have seen the same thing?

    Hi Aggie57,

Thanks for this info.  We haven't even got to a point where we can test project costs/revenues yet.  Our WBS is being affected by this corrupted workflow - so we can't open the WBS on any project at the moment.  Once we get that sorted, I'll check our calculations to see if they work.  We definitely use some of the out of the box fields for this - so will be keen to verify that they still work!

    Cheers, Jean

My pleasure - good luck getting it installed properly.  I should mention that we also had some issues with the installation, related to some supposedly "uncustomizable' fields which apparently had been changed on our system.  How we don't know but it needed Microsoft to fix before we could even get the installation to run fully.

Cool - thanks for that Antti.   It's good to hear that it worked ok in a trial version.  We are still on version 8 - which may mean it's more challenging (?) - but a good heads up on the Project Contract entity.

    Cheers, Jean

Just an update on this for anyone who is following this.

We have decided to abandon our attempt to upgrade to 1.2.2.18.  We have been working with Microsoft support on this & we are not confident that we can get it into production without error.  They acknowledge that there is a bug with the release around GetProjectCurrencies & they attempted to fix our development environment through the backend.

I've since tried to update our TEST environment & the upgrade itself is failing.  This has happened to me twice today!

I'm really hoping that they are working on this, because it's pretty difficult to get support for other bugs when they tell us we first have to update to the latest version!!
