Hi All,
I have an issue how can i populate the data in new virtual field in existing data entity. I assign the requirement date in postload method but it seems the postload method was not calling . When I test i am trying to export the data in data management to export in excel or BYOD but the requirement date fields is empty always. Do you have any idea?

Thanks for your help.

Chris

New virtual fields cannot populate data in data entity
    Hi Kevin/Andre,

I am using the existing customized data entity in inventory transaction but when i add one field only which is the requirement date. I try to check and debug it the  postload is called correctly and it is called but I embedded the current date value in requirement date and when i look at the staging the value in requirement date is empty.

    Kind regards,
    Christian

    Hi,
To populate data in a new virtual field in an existing data entity in Dynamics 365 F&O, you can follow these steps:
    Ensure PostLoad Method is Called:
Verify that the PostLoad method is correctly implemented and should be called during the data retrieval process. Double-check the method's code and the entity's setup to ensure it is being triggered as expected.
    Verify Field Assignment:
In the PostLoad method, confirm that the requirement date is being assigned to the virtual field correctly. Check for any potential issues with the assignment logic or data source.
    Test Data Export:
Test the data export process using Data Management to verify if the virtual field is populated when exporting data to Excel or BYOD. Ensure that the data entity's fields are mapped correctly for export.
    Best regards,
    Kevin

    Hi Chris,

Can you share technical details about what you customized yourself for the postLoad method? What coding did you use and did you use the correct extension attribute key words?
