CRM 2016 On Premise to SharePoint 2010 On Premise - Add button

Using CRM 2016 On premise v 8.0.1.97 integrated with SharePoint 2010 SP1 on premise. Integration seems to work fine and sharepoint location is viewable in CRM. However, clicking the 'add' button to upload a file causes the add file dialog screen to hang and spin with no end. This is in one of our test environments . In another test environment with the same set up everything works fine. Using traditional list component set up with the 2016 list component for SP 2010 installed.

Also despite list component being activated on the SP server CRM gives message that it is not installed . Under document management settings I cannot add the url of the sharepoint server w/out getting a SQL timeout error.
