Intercompany and Consolidation across multiple D365 for Financials Tenants

Hi,

On a recent thread, Jennifer Reinhardt noted that there is a max limit of 10 companies per Dynamics 365 for Financials tenant. We have a prospect who are a small operation doing just G/L and A/P, with a limited amount of A/R, but have 12 legal entities which need to be set up as individual companies.

Since we can't go higher than 10 companies, and we cannot create more than 1 instance of D365 for Financials in an O365 tenant (something that is possible with D365 for Sales), the only solution we can think of is to provision 2 O365 tenants.

I need confirmation as to whether the file export / import functionality works in D365 for Financials' Intercompany and Consolidation modules (in NAV, it does, but I don't want to assume).

Also, for Jennifer or any of the other Microsoft team members on this forum, can you comment on if there is a better way to handle this situation?

Is there a plan to raise the cap from 10 companies?

    Hello,

There is no cap on the number of companies you can deploy at this time.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

That is what I thought as well, but in this thread that I'm linking to (community.dynamics.com/.../216134), Jennifer R from Microsoft clearly mentions that "You are limited to 10 companies with Dynamics 365 Financials."

Was that limit recently removed? Or was it said in error? Can you please clarify?

Thank you, Brian! I don't want to close the thread just yet until my other question is answered.

It was initially stated that there would be a 10 company limit.  I don't know if this was simply hearsay or something that only existed during the beta.  We found out pretty early on that this was not true or overturned or something... Either way, the guidance has been that it is unlimited now.

    Thanks,

    Chris

Thank you Chris! You've just saved me from losing 2 opportunities. :-)
