How can you receive Replaced items when using PORECTOL with zero tolerance?

Posted on by 140

If I order 10 units, receive 10 units, but then return 2 faulty ones (to be Replaced), PORECTOL will not allow me to receive the replacement items.  It still uses "previously received" quantity of 10 as the upper limit.

It should use 10 PLUS "Remaining to Ship" quantity.

Any way around this?

Thanks.

Has this ever been fixed ?

The problem remains (GP2010 SP3).  The Auto-Rec workaround is fine if you then want to receive all the remaining material associated with a PO, but if you only want to receive a bit of it then Auto-Rec hits you with the same 'Total quantity shipped cannot be greater than...' blocker message.

Is it still a problem in later versions of GP ?

PORECTOL accounts for "replaced" units IF UNITS ARE RECEIVED USING the Auto-Receive function.  However, if you receive by selecting the PO Number, item and Quantity from the Receivings Transaction Entry form (not using the "Auto-Rcv" button), then you will not be able to receive above the initial order quantity.

Because there is a workaround, the fix is a low priority.

Yes, I did check "Replace Returned Goods", and that is why "Remaining to Ship" has quantities (the full order had been received before the Return was processed).

You may be right - PORECTOL may not have been updated to account for the Returned items.  Does anyone use PORECTOL with GP2010 R2?  Can you try (test environment) to see if you can receive replaced goods?

When the Return was processed, was the 'Replace Returned Goods' checked?  I'm assuming it was because the 'Remaining to Ship' quantity was apparently reset.  It's possible the PORECTOL code has not been updated to account for the new functionality in GP2010.

We are on GP2010 R2.  We just installed PORECTOL (with zero tolerance).  The Purchasing Quantity Status Inquiry Zoom indicates that there are quantities "Remaining to Ship" and "Remaining to Invoice", but the "Shipped" quantity "Posted to Date" shows the full amount shipped (actually received) - it is not adjusted for the returned (to be replaced) items.

What GP version on you on?  GP2010 resets the PO quantity back for a return.  Are you on a prior version?
