We would like to track how many hours an exempt employee is really working but only want to pay them 40 hours. Is there a way to configure the system to do this?

A couple thoughts:
-Use an hourly pay code with a zero rate to track the actual hours. This would have the side-effect of overstating employee hours on certain reports.
-Explore customizing the "Reduce Hours" transaction such that it doesn't affect wages, only hours. As info, you can create a "Reduce Hours" transaction for salary pay codes which has the effect of reducing hours to the employee check. Unfortunately, it also reduces the wage dollars. It is possible to create a negative Reduce Hours transaction which has the effect of adding hours, again also adjusting the wage dollars paid. Happy to discuss this option further if you wish.
Hope this helps!
