I need to export the form details (including form and data) to Word doc, using custom template. I see that this can be done for OOTB entities like Accounts. How to do the same for custom entities

    Thanks for the reply. I am trying that as one of the options, along with SSRS as an option. But need to know which one will be better one on MS CRM Online

    Hi Santosh,

    If you want to do Mail Merge for custom entity, just enable the Mail Merge feature in the Entity option setting.

    Mail merge is definitely easier to do since no custom code, but got many limitation, for example: cannot go through to the field in the linked entity, only can support until 1 level

    SSRS, is not easy to do, especially for CRM Online since you cannot do SQL Query, but SSRS, you can have all of the linked entities.

    If your point is just to export the data field to Word from 1 entity, Mail Merge should be a good choice since it is easier to do.
