This message appears when zooming into an SOP invoice that has a status of 'open'.  The GL shows that this trx's distributions have been posted.  If you zoom into a Detail Inquiry and click on 'source document', it takes you to a zoom of this posted trx.  But for whatever reason, you cannot access this same zoom if you go to Inquiry by Customer within Sales module or Inquiry by Document.  There is also an unposted batch containing a duplicate of this transaction.  So somehow the transaction got posted but still sits as unposted. You cannot open the unposted transaction.  The message 'This document number already exists" appears. But you can access the batch.

It appears the transaction only partially posted, putting the entries in gl, adding the invoice number to the SOP key table, but not removing the invoice from the open table and putting it in the history table.  You are going to need a consultant with good SQL GP Surgical skills to go into the db and correct this.

That sounds like it.  However, the transaction should not be history if it has not yet been paid - correct? We can still access the open invoice in the Apply Documents window.

    Hi,

I recommend running Reconcile - Remove Sales Documents (MDGP | Tools | Utilities | Sales | Reconcile - Remove Sales Documents) and use the Remove Completed Documents option.

No luck. We had already tried running the Reconcile-Remove Sales Documents using both options 'reconcile' and 'remove sales documents'. Any other ideas? We've tried CheckLinks as well on Sales Work, Sales History, Receivables Open Transaction Files and Receivables Transaction History Files

    Thanks

Thanks Sandip, but unfortunately no luck. Having a blank description doesn't make a difference - error still appears.  Filling the description with the same value as the invoice number doesn't make a difference - same error.

Wow. There is something going on Receivable Tables. Can you check RM20101 description column? After you make changes what it shows there?

Try to match Master ID, TrxSource with SOP30200 or SOP10100 tables

    Thanks

The description column in RM20101 is blank.  The SOP30200 table does not hold a record for this.  SOP10100 does hold a record for this, but that is because there is an unposted duplicate of this trx.  Any ideas?

    Thanks

Try setting the Transaction Description to be the invoice number (instead of blank).  That worked for me.
