Position Hierarchy and Signing Limits

I have the following scenario:

- purchase order approval via managerial hierarchy

- approval limits set by job rule

- workflow should only retrieve the user with the appropriate approval limit

- once this approval is done the purchase order should be fully approved and not work up the remainder of the hierarchy

Current set up

- position hierarchy set up and working correctly in other Workflows

- approval limits set by job rule

- workflow starts from requester

Now I am struggling to find the correct stop condition and hierarchy option, workflow usually stops with error user not found at the first approval step.

Could anyone let me know what stop condition I have to use and what hierarchy option to select?

Thanks,

Monika

On the workflow how you have defined the assignment with hierarchy?

means till what level you are going?

usually we define the level in assignment on workflow editor.

    Hi Sirabh,

My stop condition in the hierarchy assignment in combination with the hierarchy option seems my issue.

I thought the correct set up would be:

    - Stop condition: Employee. Approval limit. Purchase order >= purchase order.invoice amount

    - Hierarchy  option: Assign last user retrieved

Workflow throws error user not found.

if Inuse the same stop condition, but use hierarchy option: assign to all users retrieved, the workflow doesn’t error, but it does go through a chain of approvals we don’t want.

so e.g. if user A has a sign off limit of £500 and user b has a sign of limit for £1000, we would like a PO with value £900 to go to user B only. Once user B has approved the work item, the purchase order is fully approved.
